Writing Workshop

A ten-day writing and editing intensive program led by published professors, the Private Writing Workshop accelerates exponentially the composition level of our students.

Our approach is founded on two essential truisms:

• Strong ideas emerge from a close, methodical readings of texts.

• Clarity and concision in prose are the product of patience and meticulous editing.

For three hours per day, the writing workshop walks students through the completion of a single assignment, often ten pages, beginning with lessons in annotation and concluding with high-level line editing techniques.

The workshop can be geared toward writing for the sciences or the humanities. The greater purpose of this workshop extends beyond academic excellence, however: It equips students with the necessary tools to read, think, and write with precision and confidence, life long skills in increasing demand.
